What it means
P2146 means the ECM has detected an open (loss of power) in the supply-voltage circuit that feeds fuel injector group "A". Without that supply the injectors in the group cannot fire, so the affected cylinders stop delivering fuel. Depending on which cylinders are involved, the engine can misfire badly, stall, or refuse to start.

- Do a visual inspection of the injector harness and connectors for breaks, corrosion, or unseated pins.
- Check the fuse and relay that supply the injector group, and confirm battery voltage at the group's supply feed.
- Verify the injector control module ground circuits against battery ground.
- Test the control module supply-voltage circuit and, if the feed is present but the module does not switch, suspect the module.
- Repair the open circuit or replace the failed component, then clear and re-test.
