P2147
Fuel Injector Group A Supply Voltage Circuit Low
Injector circuit
Generic OBD-II
High
What it means
P2147 means the PCM detects low supply voltage on the "A" group of fuel injectors. Without proper power those injectors can't fire correctly, so the affected cylinders may misfire, run rough, stall, or fail to fire at all. It usually points to a wiring, ground, or injector-control-module fault.
High
Can I keep driving? Fix promptly β if a group of injectors loses supply voltage the engine can misfire, run rough, stall, or fail to start on those cylinders.
Common symptoms
What you'll notice
- Check-engine light on
- Misfire, rough running, or noticeable loss of power
- Hard starting or a no-start on the affected cylinder group
- Stalling or hesitation
Common causes
Most likely first
- Open or short-to-ground in the injector Group A supply (power) wiringLikely
- Poor connector contact, corrosion, or a failed injector supply relay/fuseCommon
- Faulty injector control module / driver (FICM)Common
- Bad module groundLess often
How to diagnose & fix
Work through it in order
- Read freeze-frame data and check for companion injector codes (P2146, P2148).
- Visually inspect the injector harness and connectors for damage, chafing, and corrosion.
- Check the injector control module (FICM) supply voltage circuit and its fuse/relay for a low or missing feed.
- Test the control module ground circuits against battery ground for excessive resistance.
- If the supply and grounds are good, replace the injector control module as specified.
FAQ
Quick answers
Is it safe to drive with P2147?+
Not really β a low injector supply can drop out a whole group of cylinders, causing misfires, stalling, and possible converter damage. Repair it before extended driving.
Can I just clear P2147?+
It returns as soon as the low-voltage supply fault reappears; the wiring, ground, or control module needs to be fixed first.
