P2155

Fuel Injector Group D Supply Voltage Circuit/Open

Fuel injector circuit Generic OBD-II High

What it means

P2155 means the ECM has detected an open (loss of supply voltage) in the circuit feeding fuel injector Group D. Because these injectors need that supply to fire, the fault can cause the affected cylinders to misfire or cut out, leading to rough running, reduced power, and in severe cases hard starting or stalling.

High

Can I keep driving? Possibly limited β€” if the supply to a group of injectors is lost, those cylinders can misfire or drop out, causing rough running, stalling, or a hard start.

Common symptoms

What you'll notice

Common causes

Most likely first

  1. Open circuit in the injector Group D supply voltage wiring
  2. Faulty fuel injector control module (FICM) or driver
  3. Poor or corroded connection in the supply circuit
  4. Blown fuse or relay feeding the injector group

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Read freeze-frame and check for companion injector codes (P2156, P2157, P2146).
  2. Do a visual inspection of the injector/FICM harness and connectors for damage or corrosion.
  3. Verify the supply voltage feeding the Group D injectors with the key on.
  4. Test the FICM/control-module ground circuits against battery ground.
  5. If supply and grounds are good, evaluate the fuel injector control module and retest.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is it safe to drive with P2155?+
Not recommended if the engine is running rough or misfiring β€” losing a group of injectors can cause stalling and unburnt fuel. Repair it before extended driving.
Can I just clear P2155?+
It will return until the open in the injector supply circuit is repaired, and clearing it does nothing to restore power to the affected injectors.
