P2063

Reductant/Regeneration Supply Control Circuit Low

Emissions control (SCR/DEF) Generic OBD-II Medium

What it means

P2063 means the engine computer detected low voltage on the control circuit that drives the reductant (DEF/AdBlue) supply or regeneration system. That circuit controls the pump or valve delivering fluid for exhaust after-treatment. The engine keeps running, but with the supply control faulted the emissions system can't dose correctly, and many diesels will derate power or restrict restarts until it's repaired.

Medium

Can I keep driving? Yes short term, but this is a diesel emissions supply-control fault — expect derated power or restart limits if the DEF/regeneration system stays down. Repair promptly.

Common symptoms

What you'll notice

Common causes

Most likely first

  1. Low voltage (short to ground or open) in the reductant/regeneration supply control circuit
  2. Faulty reductant supply/metering pump or control unit
  3. Damaged or corroded wiring and connectors in the supply control circuit
  4. Poor ground or electrical connection
  5. Faulty powertrain control module (PCM)

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Read freeze-frame data and confirm the fault is on the reductant/regeneration supply control circuit.
  2. Inspect the control wiring and connectors for a short to ground, opens, or corrosion; repair as needed.
  3. Check the reductant supply/metering pump's power, ground, and control signal against spec.
  4. Replace the supply control component (pump/valve) if it fails testing.
  5. Clear the code and re-run the drive cycle; if it persists with good wiring, test the PCM.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is it safe to drive with P2063?+
Short trips are usually fine, but the SCR/regeneration system isn't controlling emissions properly, and diesels commonly derate or limit restarts. Get it repaired soon.
Can I just clear P2063?+
It comes back once the low-circuit condition is detected again. The wiring or supply-control component must be fixed for it to clear for good.
