What it means
P2265 means the water-in-fuel sensor on a diesel fuel system is sending a reading that is outside its normal range or doesn't respond plausibly. That sensor warns you when water collects in the fuel/water separator. The fault is usually a dirty sensor, water intrusion, or wiring β not an engine-performance problem β but you do lose the water-in-fuel warning until it's fixed.
