What it means
P2112 means the PCM has detected the electronic throttle plate stuck in or near the closed position. On a drive-by-wire system the computer opens the throttle with a motor, and when it can't, the engine gets little air — so the car usually drops into limp mode with sharply reduced power. The most common cause is carbon build-up in the throttle body, though the actuator motor or wiring can also be at fault.
