What it means

P0225 means the ECM has seen a problem with the "C" signal from the throttle-position or accelerator-pedal-position sensor. Modern drive-by-wire systems use redundant sensor signals to cross-check pedal and throttle position, and when one goes out of range the ECM usually cuts power to a safe limp mode until it is repaired.

  3. Backprobe the sensor for its reference voltage, ground, and a smooth signal sweep.
  4. Test and replace the sensor or throttle body if the signal is out of range.
  5. If wiring and sensor check out, evaluate the ECM. Clear and re-test.
