What it means

P2280 means the engine is drawing air that bypasses the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, or airflow is restricted, somewhere between the air filter and the MAF. Because the MAF no longer measures all the incoming air, the fuel mixture is off — the engine can idle rough, hesitate, or lose power. It's almost always a loose or cracked intake duct, a bad clamp, or a clogged filter.
