What it means
P2034 means the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor at bank 2, sensor 2 has a circuit fault — the PCM sees an open, short, or out-of-range signal. EGT sensors protect the catalyst and (on diesels) manage particulate-filter regeneration. The car usually still drives, but the affected temperature reading may disable regeneration or trigger a power reduction until it's fixed.
