Cylinder 11 - Fuel Trim at Max Limit

Fuel & air metering Generic OBD-II High

What it means

P02C2 means the ECM has pushed fuel correction for cylinder 11 all the way to its maximum β€” it's adding as much fuel as it can and still sees that cylinder running lean. The usual causes are unmetered air (a vacuum or intake leak), a weak or clogged injector, or low fuel pressure. The engine runs rough and can misfire until the lean condition is corrected.

High

Can I keep driving? Drivable but running lean on cylinder 11 β€” expect rough running and lost power; fix it before it triggers a misfire.

Common symptoms

What you'll notice

Common causes

Most likely first

  1. Intake or vacuum leak, especially near the cylinder 11 runner
  2. Clogged or weak fuel injector on cylinder 11
  3. Low fuel pressure or restricted fuel supply
  4. Exhaust leak upstream of the oxygen sensor skewing the reading
  5. Faulty MAF sensor or a disconnected PCV hose

How to diagnose & fix

Work through it in order

  1. Scan and read freeze-frame and fuel-trim data to confirm the correction is maxed out.
  2. Smoke-test the intake and inspect vacuum lines and the PCV hose for leaks.
  3. Inspect the cylinder 11 injector β€” test flow and clean or replace it if weak.
  4. Check fuel pressure and the fuel filter.
  5. Inspect for exhaust leaks and check the MAF sensor. Clear and re-test.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is it safe to drive with P02C2?+
